Lilian Garcia is back in the WWE spotlight, stepping in as the ring announcer for “WWE Raw” after Samantha Irvin’s surprise departure earlier this week. Irvin shocked fans by announcing she was leaving WWE, effective immediately, raising the question of who would take over her role.

For now, it’s Garcia, a familiar face and voice in WWE, who filled in during Monday night’s episode. According to PWInsider Elite, Garcia is expected to stay in the role for the foreseeable future as part of an “extended run,” but it’s unclear if she’ll become Irvin’s permanent replacement. WWE plans to make a decision about the long-term announcer for “Raw” later on.

Interestingly, Irvin herself isn’t completely out of the picture. Despite her departure, sources say she left on good terms with WWE, leaving the door open for a possible one-off return if the circumstances align.

As it stands, the focus is now on Garcia and her third stint with WWE. Fans will remember that she first joined the company back in 1999, where she took over from the legendary Howard Finkel as the ring announcer. She held the position until she left in 2009, but returned to WWE as “SmackDown” announcer in 2011, staying until 2016. Though she’s made occasional appearances since, her most recent return to the WWE ring was earlier this year when she helped Irvin introduce a King of the Ring match between GUNTHER and Kofi Kingston.

It looks like Garcia will once again be a regular voice in WWE—for now, at least.
