Cody Rhoades discusses the possibility of turning heel.

You won’t be seeing “cool heel” Cody Rhodes on WWE TV any time.

Cody Rhodes has firmly ruled out the idea of embracing a “cool heel” persona on WWE TV. In an interview with The Pivot, the current face of the franchise addressed questions about a potential future heel turn with candid remarks. He expressed his skepticism about the modern challenge of portraying a true villain in 2024, emphasizing the difficulty of maintaining authenticity.

Rhodes also warned fans not to expect a typical heel turn from him anytime soon, suggesting they may not be prepared for the drastic shift in his character. He asserted that if he were to commit to a heel role, he would fully embrace it without seeking fan approval or merchandise sales—a stark departure from his current role as a fan favorite.

In discussing his aspirations for a heel character, Rhodes praised The Rock’s recent heel work, noting the discomfort many performers feel in that role. He highlighted The Rock’s ability to thrive in portraying a character willing to provoke fan animosity by challenging cherished aspects of wrestling culture, such as Rhodes’ own aspirations for WrestleMania 40.

This perspective from Rhodes may prompt fans to reconsider their desires and expectations regarding his potential future character evolution.
