Irish WWE superstar Sheamus, a three-time WWE Champion, has reportedly signed a new multi-year deal with the company, according to Fightful Select. This news has come as a surprise to many fans, as Sheamus has struggled in recent years, both inside and outside the ring. His recent tenure has been lackluster, and he has been away from WWE for nearly seven months, sidelined with shoulder and neck injuries.
Once a dominant force in WWE, Sheamus’ in-ring performances have noticeably declined, largely due to his increased weight, and he has been relegated to a mid-card status. His standing within the company is currently a far cry from the prominence of top superstars like Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, or even rising stars like Dominik Mysterio.
At present, the “Celtic Warrior” is involved in a storyline with Pete Dunne, who was previously a part of Sheamus’ stable, The Brawling Brutes, under the name Butch. In a shocking twist, Dunne turned on Sheamus, attacking him with a shillelagh and interfering in a Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental Championship against Braun Strowman and Ludwig Kaiser. This betrayal cost Sheamus the title.
The feud between Sheamus and Dunne escalated further on a recent episode of Monday Night RAW, where the two clashed in a heated match. Despite his status as the bigger name, Sheamus lost the bout after Dunne took advantage of a referee distraction, using a cricket bat to secure the win.
However, this loss is not expected to mark the end of their rivalry. With Sheamus’ new WWE contract in place, there are rumors that the former champion could soon be involved in more prominent matches and storylines, signaling a possible resurgence for the veteran wrestler.
Per PWInsider, Sheamus has RENEWED his contract with WWE for a duration of 3 to 5 years.

Sheamus first made his WWE debut in 2009 and quickly made his mark, winning the WWE Championship from John Cena in his rookie year and being named Breakout Superstar of the Year in 2009. Over his career, Sheamus has captured the WWE Championship three times, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship once, the United States Championship three times, and the WWE Tag Team Championship five times.
As Sheamus enters this new chapter of his career, fans are hopeful that he will reclaim some of the glory that defined his early years in WWE, and perhaps reestablish himself as one of the top competitors in the company.
Great soon
