A new report has shed light on why Jade Cargill has been missing from WWE programming in recent weeks.
Cargill has been absent since the November 22 episode of SmackDown, where she was attacked backstage and taken away in an ambulance. At the time, she was one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions alongside Bianca Belair. Initially, Fightful Select reported that Cargill was listed on WWE’s internal injury list, indicating a legitimate injury. However, other outlets suggested her absence might be part of a storyline.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, multiple sources within WWE have provided an update. Johnson reports that Cargill has been working on some outside projects and, during her time away, was also vacationing in the Bahamas.
While Cargill remains out of action, Naomi stepped up on the December 13 episode of SmackDown, offering to partner with Belair in her absence. The new pairing is scheduled to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles on the December 20 episode of SmackDown.
