WWE Injury Update on Cody Rhodes Following Shocking Post-Show Attack

WWE has released an official update on Cody Rhodes after a brutal attack by Kevin Owens following Saturday Night’s Main Event in Long Island, New York.

The attack came after the show had gone off the air, with Kevin Owens ambushing the Undisputed WWE Champion and delivering a devastating package piledriver. The assault left Rhodes incapacitated, prompting an appearance from Triple H as the champion was stretchered out of the arena.

According to WWE’s official statement:

“The historic return of Saturday Night’s Main Event ended with Cody Rhodes retaining the Undisputed WWE Title in a thrilling match. However, Kevin Owens brought the night to a shocking close with a heinous attack on The American Nightmare after the broadcast went off the air.”

The update confirms that Cody Rhodes sustained cervical swelling and spent the night in a local hospital for observation. Medical evaluations, including X-rays, ruled out any fractures, but Rhodes has been diagnosed with axial compression of the cervical spine and a cervical strain with spasm.

At this time, it is unclear how these injuries will impact Rhodes’ immediate future. Despite the severity of the attack, spoilers from the recent SmackDown tapings suggest Rhodes may still appear in some capacity.

Stay tuned for further updates on Cody Rhodes’ condition and the ongoing fallout from Saturday Night’s Main Event. Follow WWE on social media for the latest developments.
