The road to WrestleMania 41 is heating up, and the stakes are higher than ever as the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 approaches. During the January 17th episode of SmackDown, held at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California, Rey Mysterio officially announced his entry into the 30-Man Royal Rumble match.

This announcement adds yet another legendary name to the star-studded lineup for the highly anticipated battle royal, set to headline the Royal Rumble event on February 1st at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mysterio made his declaration in SmackDown’s opening segment, joining several past Royal Rumble winners and iconic superstars who have already thrown their hats into the ring. The winner of the match will earn the right to challenge a champion of their choice at WrestleMania in April, a prize every competitor dreams of claiming.

The announcements kicked off in style earlier this month, with none other than John Cena revealing he’ll participate in the Royal Rumble during RAW’s premiere episode on Netflix. Cena, embarking on his farewell tour, was the first to confirm his entry into the match.

On the same night, CM Punk and Jey Uso followed suit, declaring their intentions to compete for the ultimate opportunity at WrestleMania glory.

A week later, Paul Heyman dropped a bombshell on SmackDown, revealing that Roman Reigns will enter his first Royal Rumble match since 2020 as part of his quest to reclaim the WWE Undisputed Championship from Cody Rhodes. LA Knight also added his name to the growing list of entrants that night.

The January 13th episode of RAW brought even more firepower to the Rumble roster, with CM Punk reiterating his entry, alongside announcements from Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre.

With names like The Rock, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and more potential entrants from the Bloodline rumored to join the fray, this year’s Royal Rumble is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in WWE history.
