Two of WWE’s biggest stars, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, are expected to miss the upcoming Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Crown Jewel typically features WWE’s top talent, and this year’s card is already packed with exciting champion vs. champion matchups.
However, there’s been uncertainty around whether Punk and McIntyre will participate. The two haven’t competed since their intense Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood. As of now, there’s no indication that either will wrestle or even make an appearance at Crown Jewel 2024.
Despite speculation, CM Punk’s absence isn’t due to his role in the upcoming movie Night Patrol, as he filmed the movie while still actively feuding with McIntyre.
A WWE source mentioned that while both stars are currently sidelined, it wouldn’t be surprising to see one, or even both, return by mid to late November. CM Punk last appeared on the October 7 episode of Raw, where he hinted at uncertainty regarding his in-ring return.
As for McIntyre, his status is a bit more straightforward. He suffered a head wound during the Hell in a Cell match that required 16 staples, and he will need to be medically cleared before stepping back into the ring.
