Zelina Vega & Rhea Ripley Bring Death Note to Life with New Cosplay Pics

Zelina Vega and Rhea Ripley recently embraced their love for anime by cosplaying as characters from Death Note. In a new photo series for ComicBook.com, the WWE stars transformed into Ryuk and Misa Amane, two iconic characters from the popular manga and anime created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The eerie, supernatural storyline follows a mysterious book that can kill anyone whose name is written in it, and both Vega and Ripley shared their passion for the series as they embodied these beloved characters.

Vega, who portrayed Misa Amane, expressed her excitement, saying, “Misa Amane from Death Note! One of my absolute favorite anime’s of all time. This may surprise some, but to the people who truly know me, my favorite character being Light Yagami is no surprise. The absolute GENIUS this man is—both alluring and scary. I hope to be as smart as him, minus the God complex and ya know…”

Ripley, taking on the role of Ryuk, brought a new level of detail to her character. Vega commented on Ripley’s portrayal, saying, “Speaking of God … did you know that Gods of Death love apples? I wonder if that’s the presence I feel next to me. Whatever it may be, Rhea makes the perfect Ryuk to my Misa. Rhea and Ryuk—a match made in heaven, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The detail she put into it was pretty dope.”

This Death Note cosplay is part of a larger series Vega has been doing with ComicBook.com, highlighting some of her best anime-inspired looks. Fans of both WWE and Death Note are sure to appreciate the dedication and detail these two brought to their portrayals.
